Emma Maclean led the concept, FF&E and design development details for the Wake Concept Hotel in Hong Kong while at HBA. The concept for the hotel was to create a compact and cozy environment that was a home away from home. The neutral colour palette was achieved using economical materials like tile instead of stone and vinyl flooring instead of timber. All upholstery and fabric were also required to be very durable, therefore Xorel wall upholstery and fabrics with over 100,000 double rubs were selected. The Wake Concept Hotel was awarded the DNA Paris Design Awards in 2021 in the Interior Design/ Hospitality category.
